Deep Creek Trail Trailhead

Deep Creek Trail Trailhead offers one of the most rewarding day hikes in the Bryson City area, featuring three distinct waterfalls along its 4.6-mile main route. Located just minutes from downtown Bryson City, this well-maintained hiking area serves as a gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

The trail follows Deep Creek's course, treating hikers to the sounds of rushing water throughout most of the journey. Within the first mile, you'll encounter Tom Branch Falls cascading 80 feet alongside the path. The moderate difficulty level comes from steady elevation changes and some rocky terrain, but frequent benches provide resting spots with creek views.

Open year-round from sunrise to sunset, Deep Creek Trail connects to several other pathways, making it ideal for both quick waterfall visits and longer hiking adventures. The parking area accommodates about 40 vehicles and includes restroom facilities. As part of the National Park, there's no entrance fee.
