What’s New in Pigeon Forge For 2024?

Here’s what’s brand new in Pigeon Forge this year for attractions and places to stay.

#1 Dollywood’s New Attractions

Dollywood’s making a few changes for 2024!

  • Get into the park faster with a new ticket scanner system. This will be a welcome change as it’s always been a bottleneck when entering the park.
  • A new launch system for the Lightning Rod roller coaster. This should solve the problem of it being down for maintenance often! We could only ride it for about half of our visits last summer.
  • Dolly Parton Experience: A new immersive museum celebrating Dolly Parton’s career and impact on the Smoky Mountains.

#2 Wilderness at the smokies wild waterdome

The largest indoor water park in Tennessee’s 40,000 sq ft expansion is complete, with the outdoor slides opening in Spring!
The expansion even includes a new rooftop pool.

#3: Dig N Zone

We’ve been waiting for this to open for a while, it seemed like the coming soon sign was there for a long time! The largest construction-themed park in the U.S. opens March 1 and looks like lots of fun!

#4: NERF Action Xperience

This massive 90,000 square-foot complex is coming in the fall of 2024. Challenge zones, battle arenas, Nerf Blaster competitions, and a giant obstacle course await.

So far there’s only renderings of what it’s going to look like. But if it’s anything like this new Nerf Action Xperience in Manchester UK (we think it’ll be similar), it should be awesome!

#5: The Lost Mine Mountain Coaster & Mini Golf

Another mountain coaster?? This mine-themed mountain coaster opened in late fall last year.

We’ve ridden plenty of new ones in the last few years, and we will give this one a try, too. You control your own speed on this coaster ride, then stick around for a mining-themed round of mini golf.

#6 Toy Box Mini Golf

This new mini-golf course looks like a Toy Story-inspired playground! Play through whimsical putting holes, then satisfy your sweet tooth with ice cream and treats at the on-site shop.

#7 Crayola Experience

This 30,000 sq ft indoor family entertainment center is scheduled to open in Fall 2024

New Places To Stay

#8 Treehouse Resort

This 40-acre unique treehouse-style resort is now open, and we’re excited to try it out! Some of the individual treehouses even feature slides!

#9 Luxury Cabins at Wilderness at The Smokies

We can’t wait to check out the new cabins at Wilderness at the Smokies. The biggest indoor waterpark has added new luxury cabin rentals that look great.

#10 Tennessee Teepees

These aren’t open yet but will be soon. Parkside Resort already features other cabins, and it’s Teepees will be all new this year.
