Embassy Suites Gatlinburg: Even Better On Our Second Stay

We previously stayed at the new Embassy Suites in Gatlinburg when it first opened. During that stay, the outdoor pool and lazy river were not yet opened, which is one of the best parts of this hotel.

So we went back to check out that part of the hotel.

This review is more about the outdoor area and pools, so also check out our original review.

As usual, our stay was paid for by us and is our own opinion.

Location

This part deserves repeating as it’s really the only possible negative (and many won’t consider it to be a negative) to the hotel.

Embassy Suites is located just off Historic Nature Trail (Airport Rd) in Gatlinburg.

It’s about a 10 to 15-minute walk from the parkway, and it’s uphill coming back from the parkway.

If you’ve been walking around Gatlinburg all day in the heat, you’ll notice the walk back uphill from the Parkway.

A trolley route runs past the hotel if you don’t feel like walking. Though it’s usually faster to walk, unless you time it just right.

The picture above is taken right outside the hotel, looking towards the parkway in the far distance. You can also see the downhill slope to downtown.

Prices and Booking

See the original post for more, but you can also check prices now on Expedia.

When comparing prices, note that the Embassy Suites price includes a large suite, an evening snack and drink reception, and a very good breakfast.

As a Hilton brand hotel, it’s also bookable with Hilton points.

It’s the best value in points for Gatlinburg that we’ve found, with rooms some nights under 50,000 points per night.

Rooms

As two-room suites, the rooms are much larger than most hotels.

On this stay, we were upgraded to the largest room, with the main difference being a balcony.

A large separate living area has a sofa bed and tables.

outdoor areas

As we mentioned in our last review, this hotel has more of a resort feel than most other hotels in Gatlinburg (similar to Margaritaville Gatlinburg).

There’s plenty of indoor and outdoor space here, so it didn’t feel crowded on either of our stays.

This may change as more people find out about it.

POOL AREA

The hotel has a huge pool and outdoor area with plenty of seating, it’s one of the best parts of this hotel.

There’s a beach entry shallow year for younger kids.

And a big slide, which our kids loved.

The pool is only 2 1/2 ft to 3 ft deep.

There’s plenty of seating around the pool too.

There’s a big indoor pool, though the weather was so good it didn’t get much use this trip.

And a huge hot tub outside.

And one of other unique parts of the pool area, the lazy river.

There’s a few tubes available to float around, and there’s a bit of a current to move you around the river.

DINING

Evening Reception

The evening reception had complimentary drinks and snacks again from 5-630PM

The evening reception is held downstairs, with a seating area outside overlooking the pool area.

With more dinner items available to order from the kitchen.

Including this pizza we ordered.

CONCLUSION

With the opening of the pool area, this hotel is even better and is now one of our favorites in Gatlinburg. We will return for a third visit!

If a short walk to the parkway is a top priority, consider our other favorite, Margaritaville (see our review). Otherwise, Embassy Suites is a hotel you should consider.
