About Flapjack's Pancake Cabin
Flapjack's has three spots along the Parkway, and honestly, we usually hit the one at 146 Parkway since it's before Traffic Light #1 — way easier to get in and out without fighting that tourist traffic. The whole cabin vibe with river rock fireplaces actually works here, not like those fake mountain places that try too hard.
Their Sticky Bun Pancakes are ridiculous. Good ridiculous. We've watched our kids demolish a stack while we're still working on our first bite. The scratch-made buttermilk pancakes hit different when you're surrounded by actual log cabin walls instead of some strip mall booth.
Here's the thing though — they close at 1pm daily, which catches people off guard all the time. You'd think a pancake place would stay open for lunch, but nope. Get there by 11am on weekends or you're looking at a serious wait, especially during fall when the leaf-lookers descend on Gatlinburg.
The 478 E Parkway location tends to be less crazy if you don't mind driving a bit further down. Same menu, same river rock fireplace situation, but fewer tour buses clogging up the parking lot. They actually have space for those massive buses, which explains why the main location gets slammed.
One thing we love — they do takeout at all three spots. Smart move when you've got kids who can't sit still for a 30-minute wait. Just call ahead to 865-774-8004 and skip the whole seating drama.
