Flapjack's Pancake Cabin

We always hit Flapjack's when we need a real breakfast that'll fuel us for hiking. Their Sticky Bun Pancakes are basically cinnamon rolls in pancake form — they'll even give you the recipe card to take home, which is pretty cool. The cabin atmosphere with those river rock fireplaces makes it feel like you're eating at someone's mountain house instead of a tourist spot.

They've got two locations on the Parkway, and honestly, both get slammed after 10 AM. We learned to show up right when they open at 8 AM on weekdays or 7 AM on weekends. The parking situation is actually decent compared to most places downtown — they can even handle tour buses, which tells you something about the space.

One thing though — they close at 1 PM every day, so don't plan on a late lunch here. The Honey Dipped Chicken and Waffles is worth trying if you want something besides pancakes, and they've got gluten-free options that don't taste like cardboard.

Fair warning: weekend mornings are chaos. We've seen 45-minute waits during peak season, but the takeout option saves you if you're in a hurry. The wide-open layout with those modular tables works great for big families, which is probably why it stays so busy.
